What drives the cost of a brand film in Pune.
The six variables that decide a brand film budget, three typical project shapes, and how a written quote should look. From a Pune studio that quotes every week.
01Guide
Why brand film budgets vary so wildly.
Ask five Pune studios for a brand film quote and you will get five numbers that look unrelated. They are not. The variables are knowable.
We quote brand films every week, and the honest answer to "what does a brand film cost" is always "it depends on six things". Here are those six things, explained the way we explain them on sales calls, so you can size your own project before you brief anyone.
02Cost drivers
Where the money actually goes.
- Scope of the story. One message in ninety seconds costs less than three product lines with three endings.
- Shoot or CGI. A shoot adds crew, location, talent, permits and days. A fully CGI film moves that budget into model and render time, and often wins on flexibility.
- Deliverable count. One master is one job. Masters plus ten cutdowns, verticals and GIFs is a post project on its own.
- Talent and usage. Voice, on camera talent and music licensing are priced by skill and by where the film runs, for how long.
- Revision structure. Films approved at script and styleframe stage cost less than films discovered in the final grade.
- Timeline. A normal schedule costs normal money. A two week turnaround puts a fast lane crew on your film and nobody else's.
03Project shapes
Three budgets, three different films.
The focused small film
One message, existing footage or motion graphics only, one master plus a couple of cutdowns. Fast, tight, no shoot.
The brand story
Scripted, shot over one or two days with a small senior crew, finished with colour, sound and motion graphics. The common middle.
The launch production
Multi day shoot or full CGI build, campaign cutdowns, stills, and a delivery calendar that matches your launch. Scoped in sprints.
We do not publish fixed price cards, because a fixed card would be a guess about your brief. What we publish is the scope in writing before anything starts, and milestone billing so you never pay ahead of progress.
04How we quote
The quote is a document, not a number in a chat.
Brief call
Forty five minutes. What the film must do, for whom, by when.
Written scope
Deliverables, rounds, schedule and price in one document, before you commit.
Milestones
Billing tied to progress: approval of script, of rough cut, of final.
Handover
Masters, cutdowns and source files. Yours, no lock in.
